Margarita Island is located in the Caribbean Sea. Together with the islands of Coche and Cubagua, is the only island state of Venezuela, called Nueva Esparta. History

Built in 1525, the Province of Margarita is the oldest of whic
h in 1777 formed the Captaincy General of Venezuela. Had depended on the Royal Audience of Santo Domingo until 1739, when it was annexed to the Viceroyalty of New Granada, along with others, the April 19, 1810 was one of seven Venezuelan provinces declared their independence from the Spanish Crown, and 1830, the dissolution of the Republic of Colombia (Gran Colombia) and raises the independent Republic of Venezuela, was also one of the 13 original provinces. Geography

Climate
